Introducing Kimana’s New Book:
Redeemed from Death: Seen by the King

In Redeemed from Death: Seen by the King, Kimana invites you on a journey of redemption. Redemption from what?

“Quite a few things, actually. When I was a child, I grew up in a dysfunctional, abusive environment. My bio-dad tried to get me aborted, my step-dad was verbally, emotionally, and psychologically abusive, and over the years, this led to numerous suicide attempts. Then, in a desperate effort to escape the abusive environment at home, I got married, but quickly realized that my husband was even more abusive than my step-dad had been. After three years of torment in that situation, during which there was much more suicidal ideation, we divorced and, while living with various relatives, my health gradually recovered. During this time, I got very serious about my relationship with God and decided to follow Him with my whole being. And did He ever show up! I experienced numerous encounters with Jesus Himself, and those encounters were healing and restorative in ways, and to depths, that I can barely describe adequately. These pages describe the process Jesus took me through to heal me from the effects of those years of abuse and torment, and to open my eyes to His infinite goodness.”

Kimana Monique Hesser

I was born in 1996 to an unwed, teenage, poverty-stricken, disabled mother, who herself did not have an easy time during her formative years. Our family became part of a cult for a while, and when that group split, my mother encountered much less resistance to her teaching her children about the God of the Bible. But my step-dad did not support her in this effort; he was a staunch atheist. Because of my mother’s influence, she taught me and my siblings Biblical truths, for which I am extremely grateful. But although I knew “things” about God, I didn’t actually have a relationship with God myself until going through years of my life being guided only by my own wisdom and choices. When that was a spectacular failure, I finally turned to God for help, and I discovered that He was ready and eagerly waiting for me to ask Him. Since I decided to live my life wholly for Jesus, being guided by His wisdom instead of my own, I have experienced some of the most glorious and healing experiences I could imagine, and many I could never have imagined until they happened to me. Truly, He is able to do “exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask or imagine.”
